Why the Tabernacle?

Several years ago around 2012 the Lord took me on a journey into his presence by Holy Spirit revelation by using the pattern of the tabernacle. And in fact our church did a week-long conference exploring and discovering Jesus through the tabernacle because of this revelation. Afterwards, the Holy Spirit made it clear to me that the event wasn’t over but just the beginning. Since then we have spent years gaining knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of the kingdom principles found in this divine pattern, that when applied to our daily lives it helps bring about a transformed life. All throughout the scripture you find where the temple was destroyed and then rebuilt or defiled and then cleansed. The enemy’s goal was to destroy or keep the temple of God in a defiled state. This is still true today with us now being a temple of the Holy Spirit ( 1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The reason the enemy of our soul wants to keep us in a defiled state is because God‘s glory fills a cleansed temple. Yes, we are cleansed by the blood of Jesus and by the washing of his word. But all the things in our souls that need to be purged or that we keep participating in keeps us in a place of bondage and defilement. This defilement is like a dam inside of us that stops the living water from flowing out of us. This defilement keeps our light dim and keeps us from walking in our true identity in Jesus as kings and priest. When we continue to fill our temples of things that bring defilement mentally or physically, it keeps us in a place of guilt and shame, etc. and causes us not to walk in confidence in who we are in Christ. The scripture that comes to mind is, “ who may ascend to the hill of the Lord or stand in His Holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart….. (Psalm 24:3-6)
What I have learned over the years is that the Tabernacle pattern is a picture of Christ created to provide a visual of a divine process of cleansing and ascension that eventually produces a mature believer. The pattern literally mentors you in becoming a disciple of Christ and teaches you how to pray and intercede. It’s like a circuit the more you learn and engage this divine process the “stronger” you become.
To enter this divine process, you have to enter in through Jesus. Jesus is the door. He’s the one who helps you through the process and the truth is we can do nothing without him. As you make the ascension you also find Holy Spirit and our Heavenly Father throughout while learning who you are. There’s much I could say here but let me get back to the question, why the tabernacle?
The Tabernacle pattern is a cleansing process, identity fixer, tool for focus, pathway(Jesus) to the Father, relationship builder, chain breaker, mental stabilizer, ascension helper, closet door closer, forgiveness motivator, opener of visions, the secret place finder, wisdom provider, a highway of holiness, a well digger, and it’s like a key to a tractor that helps plow up the ground. It’s inexhaustible of what it can do for you because He is inexhaustible. This pattern is eternal, the process will never fail you, it’s divinely made, and Jesus is found in every piece of it. The pattern is like a bridge that teaches you how to mentally and spiritually connect to His kingdom dimension. With this process you learn how to make the great exchange. The great exchange is where you surrender or submit yourself to God and now it’s no longer you or I that live but Christ that lives in us. (Galations 2:20) The tabernacle pattern or I could say the discipleship/prayer pattern helps you learn how to surrender to God and and engage in a personal relationship with Him. As we do this we truly learn how to rest in Him which is necessary because the location and position of where you do warfare matters…. If you submit yourself to God resist the devil and he will flee. (James 4:7). James goes on to say in verse eight, “come near to God and He will come near to you”. If you read further you will continue to see portions of the tabernacle pattern of prayer in the next few verses. If you look at the pattern with the natural mind you will not be able to see Jesus in it or understand the richness of wisdom, knowledge and understanding that is found through it. Only by His Spirit will the richness of it be revealed. God conceals and as kings we should seek it out.
The journey into his presence is multifaceted but in the end, the destiny is to get to the Father and no man shall come to the Father except through Jesus. And Jesus made the way! My prayer is that you will discover the beauty and richness found in this divine pattern that so beautifully reveals Jesus, and is applicable for your life today and throughout eternity!
